Headache Institute
The Headache Institute at Texas Neurology is committed to the diagnosis, treatment and management of headaches. Our dedicated team works diligently under the direction of the Medical Director, Dr. Steven. P. Herzog. His support team consists of a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, Social Services, Registered Nurses and medical and administrative support staff to meet our patients' needs.

Steven P. Herzog, M.D.
Dr. Steven Herzog is a graduate of Arizona State University and received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his neurological training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and Parkland Hospital where he served as Chief Resident in Neurology from 1988 to 1989. In 1989, he began private practice at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. He is a board certified neurologist. Presently, he is Director of Medical Education for the Department of Neurology at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. He is also the Medical Director of the Headache Institute at Texas Neurology which focuses on clinical research and advanced therapies for the treatment of patients with acute and chronic headaches. Dr. Herzog served as Chairman of the 2001 Texas Neurological Society Winter Conference and the 2004 Summer Conference. He is a frequent lecturer across the state and is quoted by print and television on a regular basis. Dr. Herzog served as president of the Texas Neurological Society for 2004 to 2005.

Josie McGray, MSN, RN, FNP-BC
Josie McGray, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, majoring in Psychological Sciences with an emphasis on Psychopathology and Cognitive Neuroscience. She went on to complete her training at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and received her Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in Family Health. Josie is originally from Austin, Texas.

Amanda Doughty, MSN, RN, NP-C
Amanda is a licensed Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Sociology. She went on to completer her training at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Nursing, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She attended Baylor University-Dallas School of Nursing for graduate school, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Family Health. While attending graduate school, she worked at Baylor Medical Center focusing in the Neuroscience Department. Amanda comes to Texas Neurology with previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Neurology, Primary Care and Geriatrics.

Leslie Noble, RN, MSN, ACNP-BC
Leslie is an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. Leslie’s previous nursing experience includes emergency room and neonatal intensive care nursing as well as management of healthcare issues for patients in the correctional setting with mental disorders.

Sheilah Harned, LCSW
Sheilah Harned, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters degree in Social Work. She received a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Rhetoric and Communication Studies at the University of Virginia. She received her Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. Sheilah has had over 20 years of experience in medical social work coordinating care for patients at Baylor University Medical Center and Texas Neurology, P.A.

Lori White RN, MS, CRNI
Lori White RN, MS, CRNI, is the Director of Clinical Operations at Texas Neurology. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Science from Texas Women's University. She also holds certification in Infusion Therapy. Additionally, Lori is a long-standing member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nurse's Honor Society. Lori's experience has been in acute medical/surgical and infusion nursing.

Our Mission
The Headache Institute is committed to the diagnosis, treatment and long-term management of common and complex headache disorders. We work closely with our patients to establish a treatment program to increase their headache threshold and decrease their triggerability, thereby reducing the number of headache attacks.
